ABSTRACT

A comprehensive study of the intranasal drug effect on the nasal mucosa using laser Doppler flowmetry. Also we look at the subjective symptoms. A single intranasal application of the major groups of drugs studied within 90 persons with normal nasal cavity. We reveal some relation of changes in the microvascular blood flow and the the action of drugs on nasal mucosa. We also revealed the influence of drugs on the mucosa and on the microcirculation of the nasal cavity after rhinological operations. In our study we detected earlier tachyphylaxis due to intranasal decongestants application than previously thought and also noted the positive effect of irrigation treatment of nasal cavity.
