EVALUATION OF LOW-COHERENCE INTERFERENCE FRINGES BY THE MODIFIED TEAGER-KAISER ALGORITHM

ABSTRACT

High-speed processing algorithm to evaluate low-coherence fringe envelope is considered. The algorithm is based on the so called Teager Energy Operator that enables to recover fringe envelope without a priori knowledge of the carrier fringe frequency. The suggested modified Teager-Kaiser algorithm includes an additional filtering procedure providing stability of the fringe envelope assessment in the areas of small fringe signal value. The algorithm can be used in low-coherence profilometry and correlation optical coherence tomography.
