OPTICAL, OPTOACOUSTIC, AND ULTRASOUND TECHNIQUES FOR NONINVASIVE DIAGNOSTICS AND THERAPY

ABSTRACT

Our laboratory has pioneered noninvasive techniques for diagnostics and therapy: 1) Optoacoustic platform for noninvasive sensing, monitoring, and imaging based on optical absorption contrast; 2) Monitoring with optical coherence tomography (OCT) based on scattering contrast; and 3) Nanoparticles and radiation (optical, RF, microwave, or ultrasound) for cancer therapy without drugs or for drug delivery. In this paper we report recent results in the development of these techniques.
