It was investigated the influence of gold nanoparticles with different size (1-3 nm, 15 nm and 50 nm) on the morphophunctional state of mesenterial lymphatic node cell populations of healthy laboratory animals. It was established that the oral administration of gold nanoparticles caused the changes of morphokinetics of mesenterial lymphatic node cell populations. The morphological reorganizations in the mesenterial lymphatic nodes testified about activation of migration processes, the proliferation and differentiation processes of immunocompetent cells, which assumes the presence of immunomodulating action of gold nanoparticles.
Control experiments showed non-uniform distribution of different types of cells in mesenteric lymph nodes of different zones after 8-day oral administration of gold nanoparticles of 1-3 nm, 15 nm and 50 nm.
In the group treated with 1-3 nm gold nanoparticles for 8 days the absolute number of small, medium and large lymphocytes, as well as immunoblast, plasma cells and mast cells, have a value almost the same as in control group. The number of mitotic figures is also on the level of the control group.The increase of the absolute number of small, medium and large lymphocytes after 8-day oral administration of 15 nm gold nanoparticles was revealed in the all functional zones of lymph nodes compared with the control group. In all study areas the presence of immunoblast was indicated. Thus, in the zone of lymph follicles of the absolute number was 8,2 ± 0,4 (p <0.001). The number of plasma cells increased dramatically in the area of the brain cords of the response observed plazmatisation. In all study areas the increasing of mitotic activity was noted, which manifested itself in increasing the number of mitotic figures.Introduction to 8 days of gold nanoparticles of 50 nm lead to morphofunctional changes in the cellular composition of mesenteric lymph nodes, similar to the effect of the introduction of nanoparticles 15 nm, but was more pronounced.
In summary, can be concluded that oral administration of gold nanoparticles of 1-3 nm didn't causes changes of cell composition of mesenteric lymph nodes, administration of nanoparticles size 15 nm and 50 nm for 8 days leads to a change in morphofunctional state of cell populations mesenteric lymph nodes. Studied the structural and functional changes in the cell indicate that activation of the migration, proliferation and differentiation of immune cells, suggesting immunomodulating effect of gold nanoparticles.
