Monochromatic spectral imaging can be performed at illumination of the object by a single spectral line, e.g. emitted by a laser. When color RGB camera is used for image acquisition, it is possible to extract up to three monochromatic images by a single snapshot, if up to three laser lines simultaneosly illuminate the object. Potential applications of the multi-spectral-line imaging technique for skin chromophore mapping and for counterfeit banknote detection will be discussed.
