ABSTRACT

A tunnel photoelectric effect in a microdiode with localization of the electrostatic field at the emitter of a carbon nanoscale DLC structure was investigated. An experimentally observed photocurrent arising upon irradiation of a carbon emitter by a laser and a low-coherent tunable source of optical radiation in the range from ultraviolet to near-IR with photon energy is less than the work function of electrons from the emitter material.
