THEORETICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH OF PROPERTIES AND EFFICIENCY OF APPLICATION OF GOLD NANO-STARS FOR LOCAL LASER HYPERTHERMIA OF CELLS AND BIOTISSUES

ABSTRACT

The effect of the physical, optical and thermophysical properties of plasmon resonant gold nanostars on the possibility of their use for biophotonics applications - local hyperthermia, optoporation, diagnostics - was studied. Theoretically and experimentally, the maximum permissible levels and duration of laser irradiation pulses are determined, at which irreversible structural changes in nanostructures was observed. It is shown that gold nanostars outperform most of the known plasmonic nanoparticles.
