BLOOD GROUP TYPING ON THE BASE OF ELASTIC LIGHT SCATTERING DIGITAL MONITORING

ABSTRACT

The scattering of laser radiation by erythrocytes and RBC immune complexes in the process of their sedimentation was registered by digital photo method. Digital photographs quantitative treatment gave an opportunity to choose that space zone for optical testing of samples, where the resolving power of blood typing has maximum. For the zones chosen the influence of the following factors upon the level of resolving power to define the blood group was investigated: the features of probe preparation, time duration of ultrasonic action upon the samples and duration of their incubation. It was shown experimentally that ultrasonic action upon the mixture under investigation “blood – serum” intensifies the agglutinating process, forms larger immune RBC complexes and, hence, accelerates the process of their sedimentation. Ultrasound application reduceslaboratory test time and increases the reliability of blood typing. The results obtained may be used to develop instruments for humane blood group typing
