ABSTRACT

In this work optical properties of human eye sclera have been investigated and measurements of transport characteristics (permeability and diffusion coefficients) of various drugs in ocular tissues of humans and experimental animals were provided. At the same time, the value of glucose diffusion coefficient in eye conjunctiva has been measured for the first time.The obtained values of permeability and diffusion coefficients can be used for development of new and optimization of existing methods of therapy of various ophthalmologic diseases.
