ELECTRONIC PROPERTIES OF GRAPHENE NANOSTRUCTURES IN THE PRESENCE OF DNA NUCLEOTIDES

ABSTRACT

The transmission function of segments of graphene nanoribbons in the presence of different nucleotides of DNA in a series of a numerical experiments was studied. The resistances of such systems were calculated in order to study their possible use as biosensors. It was found, that resistance of segments of zigzag-nanoribbons changes significantly in presence of DNA nucleotides. Additional peaks of transmission function can be observed at different energies.
