OPTICAL CLEARING OF SKIN AND ITS INFLUENCE ON MICROCIRCULATION

ABSTRACT

The purpose of the work is determination of the influence of glycerol solution with DMSO and aqueous DMSO solution on the functioning of capillaries in the skin. The research results showed that the use of an aqueous solution of glycerol as a clearing agent can effectively control the optical properties of the skin. Increase of the coefficient of collimated transmittance of skin samples in 8 – 13 folds in dependence on wavelength was observed. This causes of increase the penetration depth of optical radiation in biological tissue, in particular, to improve visualization of blood microcapillaries. Applications glycerol solution with DMSO and aqueous DMSO solution causes significant clearing of tissue and reduction in mean blood flow velocity in microcapillaries in about 6 folds.
