CONTROL OF THE ELECTRONIC STRUCTURE OF CORRUGATED GRAPHENE NANORIBBONS

ABSTRACT

This work is devoted to reveal the effective ways to control the electronic structure of graphene nanoribbons by modifying their atomic structure. A study of the electronic structure of corrugated graphene nanoribbons is performed by resolving the following scientific objectives:
1) Identify the features of the electronic structure of graphene nanoribbons depending on the configuration of the atomic skeleton of structure.
2) A study of the influence of the corrugation depth and width on the electronic structure of graphene nanoribbons.
3) Establishment of regularities of changes in the electronic structure of graphene nanoribbons depending on the type and concentration of structural defects.
The objects of this work are graphene nanoribbons two structural types - armchair and zigzag.
