Fluorescent and laser light signals, back-scattered from the surface of the multi-layered media with different scattering and absorption parameters were investigated. The micro changes of the size, density and absorption of the scatterers influenced on the light distribution in the tissue, reducing or augmenting the sizes of the surface laser spots.
The Mie calculations of the scattering parameters allowed to perform the Monte Carlo modelling of the diffuse-reflected light distributions. Such modelling showed a good similarity with the experimental results. The method allows to study in vivo the epithelial changes of the tissue on the initial stages of the neoplasm formation.
