Russian-Chinese Workshop on Biophotonics and Biomedical Optics-2012 will be held in Saratov, Russia, which is designed to bring together both Russian and Chinese scientists, engineers and clinical researchers from a variety of disciplines engaged in applying optical science, photonics and imaging technologies to problems in biology and medicine. The scope of this bilateral workshop ranges from basic research to instrumentation engineering, to biological and clinical studies.
The topics of this workshop are broad and will cover (but not limited to) the following:
During the workshop, 8 Chinese experts and 12 Russian experts will give invited reports. They all sent their confirmed letters.
After the workshop, Prof. Valery Tuchin, the Head of Research-Educational Institute of Optics and Biophotonics, Saratov State University, Saratov, Russia, will invite the Chinese experts to visit Institute’s laboratories. They will discuss the future collaborative projects in the field of biophotonics. Visits to other Research Institutes and Centers of SSU will be also provided, such as Institute of Natural Science, International Research-Educational Center “Photonics,” REC-006 “Nonlinear Dynamics and Biophysics,” and Center of Nanotechnology.
Actually, Russian-Chinese / Chinese-Russian Workshop on Biophotonics and Biomedical Optics have been hosted in Saratov, Russia and in Wuhan, China. The first Chinese-Russian Workshop had been combined with International Conference on Photonics Imaging in Biology and Medicine (PIBM) hosted by Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2006, and the second Russian-Chinese Workshop had been combined with Saratov Fall Meeting on Optics, Laser Physics & Biophotonics (SFM) hosted by Saratov State University in 2007. The past two terms bilateral Workshop on biophotonics and biomedical optical achieved a big success with comprehensive and professional lectures from Chinese-Russian Scientists. Some feedbacks from the attendees and invited experts confirmed they have learnt a lot with fundamental knowledge, front techniques and current applications. After that, some Chinese-Russian cooperation research projects were approved by NSFC and RFRB, more and more papers from the cooperation have been published. The third Chinese-Russian Workshop on Biophotonics and Biomedical Optics have been hosted by Huazhong University of Science and Technology and combined with International Conference on Photonics Imaging in Biology and Medicine (PIBM), 2-4 November, 2011, Wuhan, P.R. China.
